Bleached obeche, embroidery thread    3" dia x 2.75" high   #136.1   $350

This was an interesting idea that took awhile to work out. I glued around 20 strands of fine gauge black embroidery thread between too many layers of bleached obeche veneer until the lamination was big enough to work with. The pattern is light and more subtle than I imagined; I plan to work it again with different thread colors. As the piece is rotated somehow light refracts from it differently and has an interesting optical effect. I made two practically identical, the last one sold at the Southern Highland Craft Guild "Black and White" exhibit in 2021.
